Hi I'm going to open a massage business in NJ.  Could you offer some suggestions on how to promote my business to people?  It's going to be a health center with several massage therapists. Thanks a lot!  ;D

When I first started out, I got new clients in 3 different ways.#1. I advertised in a coupon book.#2. I did free 10 min. neck and shoulder massages at a nearby gym. (Bring your appt. book.)#3. I introduced myself to chiropractors in the area and beauty salon owners, and offered them a free massage so that they would know my work and be able to recommend me. (Give them lots of business cards.)All three of these worked equally well.-Melody

I printed out nice brochures and offered a small discount on services.  Word of mouth is some of the best advertising you can get.Do something that will get people talking.  Maybe once you open, have an open house. You may find a yellow page ad to be helpful also.

Contact your local newspaper, or a smaller circular. They might do an article on your opening.Find charities, groups or organizations  you are interested in - you can volunteer your time and have a great chance to network with lots of people, and you can donate gift certificates for their fund raisers (I do this very often and it  has REALLY helped build my business) THe gift certificates get distributed around the community through the organizations and your business gets great recognition.GOOD LUCK!Dori
