Songkran 2011

gday Lads,
coming for alittle RnR next songkran. will be staying in kata (by choice) in the beginning and stopping salathai/patong after the bars are free of plastic bags etc. I hope things will be rocking so to speak.....as I have never really been in around sniffing the action during the evening. any tips/thoughts I should take note of??

and ex pattaya player from way back so I dont need rules and advise just only what things I should take a peek at when in Phuket. cheers in advance.grolls

If I translate correctly you mean you will be spending Songkran in Kata and after the wet party you will move to Patong, i.e. Salathai hotel.
You should go to Bangla Road and find your own spots you like there. Do a search and you will find trip reports and experiences from other BM's. Post more and more lecture will be available.

cheers captain, yeah i thought I would stay in 2 places, kata is far enough and quieter so to speak but still be able to find some action there in around Songkran. Ive been reading posts for patong (4 hand massage sounds the go for me)was more curious what to expect in kata april 2011. Another thing if anyone has info I wouldnt mind havin a round of golf and was wondering where I could loan a set of decent stick apart from the club itself (Janbar in pattaya used to help out expats etc) so I was hoping there was an informal golf club that would/could do the same.

As far as I know golf sets renting only in golf club.
No experience of Kata. Watch out, tuktuks are a lot more expensive than in Pattaya, so it will cost you staying in Kata and going out in Patong.

check in at the aussie bar and ask where a guy named mike has his bar, it's up near nickys handlebar under a small highrise building, little bit out of the way but there is a good group of aus expats that live there and they are pretty helpful, generally a set of clubs lying around near the pool table.
some other bms may be able to name the building (i can't remember exactly but not sure if it's not sky inn?? and the bar is called nok and chicken or something like that)

cheers for that snowy, nothing a motobike cant handle during the day, will do some ground work in and around those massage joints you all mention, a drink or 2 in patong then back into kata for some night action me thinks....only there for 4 nights and one of them is songkran so that day is definately not a normal day, so b4 I know it, Im in patong anyway.
