It seems there is frequently an element of "re-inventing the wheel" ( i just made that phrase up. cool.) here at massageplanet.net as relative newcomers, like myself, come up with questions that have been asked and answered many times before. however...

1. why do we choose MP vs SP as a choice of activity (hey, why don't we call it a "hobby"? )

2. if SP's were less expensive and/or more available in their own place (hey, lets call that an "incall". Sorry, i just keep coming up with these great ideas) would that make a difference ?

1. More choice and variety at MPs, the fantasy and teasing that goes with the massage can be just as good or better than a FS experience.

2. MPAs are not necessarily less expensive. I don't think it would make a difference to me if incall escorts were more readily available.

in addition to what Fred say, i would add the following as benefits for mpas:

1. much easier to schedule on impulse (eg. walk-in when you have the urge)
2. less "guilt" for us married guys (cite clinton excuse ... i did not have sexual relations with that woman)
3. more convenient locations as there are lots more around compared to incalls
4. mpas are less expensive than the typical incall and definitely much less than the typical outcall

Stinkypete, those are some awesome terms you came up with and should possibly be implemented in the future.

This question somewhat addresses something I've thought about, which is the stigma that society places on the individual "professions" ... I think it goes in this order of acceptance : Dancers, MPA's, then Escorts.

From my personal perspective I do not see any real difference morally or otherwise whether I come in sexual contact with a stripper or an SP. No matter how I look at it, it is still sexual / intimate contact. I've only seen a couple of escorts, but if anything the encounter can be less risky and less "intimate", in part due to the fact a condom is used as a physical barrier. I know some will see it differently and feel so called FS is taking things a step further but to me, possibly, the direct interaction of DFK / DATY is more intimate. ( I'm kind of contradicting my own thinking here, but I'm using protected FS as a reference. )

It also seems that there is a mentality that an escort is better value because you are getting "more", but as I already alluded to, that is totally subjective. If DATY/ DFK is your cup of tea, then FS is not better value at a similar cost. Of course you can get it all from an escort, but in my experience the intimacy ( Dave made me say it ) level is generally more in an MP, because that is the focus rather than the more physical act of FS.

The YMMV factor also applies far more in an MP, which can be a positive thing, delusional or not. Also with an escort the service provided is "essentially" the same with clients throughout the day, while with an MPA not all guys get the same defined extras like BS and/ or extra extras.

For me, sexual acts with a condom just don't do much for me, on a mental and physical level, with the odd exception, so even if escorts were cheaper they wouldn't be better value, as FS/ CBJ takes up a large part of the session with DATY becoming secondary and I was born to DFK !

So from a personal "moral" standpoint seeing an MPA vs an SP is essentially the same and it's more a questions of individual needs.

NB this is no way a judgement on any girls within the biz, as I believe all the professions to be morally right within my standards and an individual personal decision. It's just my personal perspective as a client.

You guys have really done well with this thread...obviously some thought has gone into it.

I'm also an "attached hobbyist", and the cheating aspect is definitely one of the thrills, but I do find it "safer" because I don't have any emotional involvement, so I don't view it as an affair (it really *is* closer to an obsession). I'm in it for the physicality and being able to be with a variety of types of girls, not for the GFE emotional experience. Doesn't matter if its SC, MP or SP. But, I did exerience one "spark" with a lap dancer...luckily for me, I only saw her once (since I usually hobby when I'm traveling), for only one session.

Those are great comments. I hadn't anticipated the thread heading in that direction but I'm glad it did.
It seems some are able to avoid the intimacy "high-grade" cheating, while others of us do enjoy the emotional connections. I think on occasion they can work out, as long as the boundaries re: committment and lack thereof are clear to both.

Question: in my limited MP experience, there is a vulnerability (? submissive) aspect which I quite enjoyed. Is this maybe a reason that some prefer MP ?

You are making me question my previous thinking, somewhat. I didn't indicate what I was referring to in regards to "morally", but cheating was the standard I was judging things by. ( I am "attached" )

I agree that emotional cheating is the #1 and I almost feel it is essentially the only way of truly cheating. Of course I've probably justified this to myself, but in essence emotion is the primary important factor in a true bonding relationship.

I'd put the physical acts as a more distant second, that is assuming that no emotion is attached to any, which is not entirely realistic to say that no psychological feelings are attached. After thinking about it I would separate them to a degree, due to intimacy factors. I think the value placed on each act by both or either individual is what makes it higher in the chain. That is what makes hoping for that extra mileage that isn't known to be "available"( dfk / daty ) more valuable in part. There's nothing like surprise DFK !

I generally agree with your order in terms of the intimacy factor, but still maintain they are all in essence the same, when it comes to cheating ( cheating in itself is another issue altogether - are we cheating ourselves if we suppress desires ? )

I'd rate DFK as #2, then DATY, but for me FS is a weird one ( especially without sensual, passionate, unbridled DFK ! ) Without the emotion it is very much a physical act and even with someone you love ( yes, I said the "L" word ), I've generally found that sex to an extent can be a separate thing in itself.

I didn't mention emotional, but it's interesting that you did, Jazz. I think for many of us, the reason we hobby ( yes, it sounds more "OK" ) is because there is generally no "real" emotional attachment and if it becomes involved it defeats the purpose to an extent. At the same time it makes things interesting and it's a good thing not to suppress emotions.

I haven't gotten emotional attached to an MPA in any real sense of the word, but I'm "somewhat" safe as I'm pretty jaded*, even though I do tend to care about people in general ...

My two cents' worth on this provocative question says I concur with all of the above. The issue of "fidelity" is particularly twisty and probably equivocal. One of the aspects I like about MPs is that my wife doesn't at all mind, and frequently drops my off at my regular studio (I don't drive a car; don't know how; never bothered to learn--my little gift to human longevity).

My wife, an understanding woman when it comes to male idiosyncrasy (and idiocy), does have a few rules: When I travel, she gives me leeway to go as far as a covered bj if I must. But NO intercourse. It's not at all hard to go along with that, but I've never gone further than a body slide on the coast of Thailand.

That's one reason for preferring MPs. Another, not noted earlier, is our passive side. Sometimes it's truly sweet to be neither in charge nor leading the charge, but to receive, and trust the intuition of the pleasure-giver. A tall order, agreed, but I think most of us have an MPA who does the trick.

Me, I just like to be touched, and touched everywhere, and as much as possible. It is, after all, the least exercized and most neglected sense in a social milieu that pretty much abhors it. In that capacity, an MP is waaaaay better than a "legit" spa, where touch is pretty much restrained by what my wife calls "the dangerously discreet".

Touch is a profound male need, and one ignored. Fundamentally, I think that's the reason most of us go to MPs. I'm sure SPs fulfil the need, too, but in my case, but I'm not prepared to break a very generous trust.

Interesting question, Jazz. The answer is once a week, almost always to the same studio--a modest Chinese enterprise which marries a superlative Shiatsu massage with the classic pleasuring, extras neither offered nor required. And once a week is enough: Aside from being touched in a way that curls my toes, I emerge limber and agile and an altogether more agreeable companion.

Oh, and by the way, I've just purchased my wife a gift certificate for strictly Shiatsu massage with a marvellous masseuse in the core of the city. Touch is a universal.

Not all sessions and interactions are the same, but i do experience vulnerability when she is in total control, and i like it. i find it liberating....

Any amongst you feel likewise that there is a vulnerability component ? Am i just choosing this particular word to describe a common feeling of enjoyment ?
