Just checking to see if anyone on the board uses Spa Finder, and if they do, are they happy with it? I am most interested in the gift certificate program. Thanks!

I haven't checked the board lately sorry. I use Spa Finder and have found it helpful. I am in a small town however, I have received a few gift certificates from clients. The first time I applied with Spa Finder I was a one woman show and they turned me down. The second time I applied I was accepted I have since grown. Hope that helps.

The reason I asked was because I was in a local drugstore, and I was checking out and noticed the variety of gift cards they had available. SpaFinder was one of them, so I was curious if anyone found it to be worth joining their GC program. I had applied to be listed a while back, and was accepted, but did not enroll in the GC program,

I am also a SpaBoomer, but as of yet, I haven't seen tangible giftcards in mainstream stores for them...Maybe that is next on their agenda?

I have found it to be helpful especially at Christmas. The program doesn't cost anything to join so you really don't have anything to lose. That's just my 2cents which doesn't really amount to much!

what are your thoughts/experiences? i've decided to go ahead and sign up to try it... but have only submitted an application and haven't gotten farther than that yet.

I have been on SpaFinder for a while, and I love it. I have a neighbor who got several SpaFinder GCs through his company (incentive gifts) and he asked if I took them. So I contacted them, filled out an application and was approved. Since then I have gotten several clients who never would have found me otherwise. They do take a good sized chunk of the GC face value, but I still have found it worth it. (For my own GCs, I go through SpaBoom.)

I'm looking forward to seeing if I get any more new clients since SpaFinder bought SpaWish. I see SpaWish gift cards for sale all over the place, and was happy to discover that if I am already part of SpaFinder I can also be part of SpaWish. Now I'm listed on both.

well, that's exactly what i'm hoping for too! so glad to see that you get a good response from it and that it's worth the chunk. of course, that chunk has gotta be less than you'd spend on advertisement, so it's worth trying for me too.

Yes, the nice thing about them is that you only pay if/when someone uses your services. No client, no fee. If only ALL of our advertising expenses could be based on whether they had an outcome or not!!!

I've experienced the hit because I'm part of SpaBoom and SpaEmergency (they don't have the gift cards in stores, but people find it through online searches), and that 15% hit does hurt, when it comes. I considered applying to be part of SpaWish (or is it SpaFinder -- now I'm getting confused about which is which?!? : ), but the application seemed like it's looking more for actual "spas," instead of single-therapist practices??

no worries. i hope it works well for all of us. it took about a week and a half after sending in my request - they emailed with a little more paperwork, instructions on direct deposits, redeeming, etc, i faxed it back and we're in their system.
