I just had an elderly client with spinal stenosis. She has avoided surgery and has been suffering with the pain and she came in to see if massage would help her. She was feeling much better when she left, but I was very cautious about working anywhere near her spine. I did work her ES on both sides and her piriformis and QL's. Her neck was really bad. I stayed away from the cervicals as i could tell it was thin there. I worked the muscles around it gently, but no traction. What else should i have done or should I have not worked on her at all?
