Squeaky Table...

I have a 4 year old Oakworks Wellspring. I am now using the table more than ever, before it was an occasional house call. Well I noticed that I started to squeak, it started out just occasionally, but now it is all the time. I have tightened all the bolts and screws, put rubber washers under all the screws and bolts... It seems to be ok, after I check it out, but then as soon as I get one client on it... back to squeaking...

Has anyone had this happen? Have any suggestions? It is driving me nuts, but the clients haven't said anything so far.

ever used WD 40? may help :} Mine squeaks, too (Earthlite), but I always forget it does until I get a client on it lol A stationary Earthlite is on my wish list for this year, Im hoping with less moving parts, I wont have that prob.

Part of my problem is, I have no idea where the squeaking is coming from?

I'm thinking baby powder for "lube" WD40 should work too, but if there is unsealed wood, it'll just soak in. Some might not like the smell of it too. I have a hard time imagining what sort of person that would find the smell offensive, but I know they are out there. You may have to enlist help...put one body on the table and one on the floor and a stethescope might help too. OR a microphone setup of some sort.

I know you said you checked and tightened all the bolts and screws - have you looked at the cables closely? Maybe one is wearing out? Or there is a crimp mechanism that has gone bad?

The wellspring has an aluminum frame... no wood anywhere!

And yes, I have checked the cables, but not the crimp mechanisms...

I actually bought the wellspring to avoid the wood losening up on me...

I have a three year old Wellspring Oakworks and yes it squeeks too. My husband tightened up everything and that helped for about a week or so, now it is back to squeeking. Anyone from Oakworks on this forum?

I have an oak works table. The only thing that seems to be more squeeky than when I first got my table 4 years ago is the face cradle. It gets quite creaky when working on the head and neck. I fear the locking mech is wearing out slowly but surely. I have heard of this happening for others as well. Those little knotches seem to wear down and dont lock tight as well.

I have an Earthlite table & face rest, & I don't know if the Oakworks has a similar design. I did notice my face cradle didn't lock as securely after a few years of use. Then, I looked closely at the locking mechanism and saw that a bolt provided the tension. I got a wrench, tightened the bolt, and haven't had a problem since. You might want to peer closely at the Oakworks face cradle; maybe it has a bolt, too?

As for the table, my Earthlite's never squeaked, so can't offer any advice on that one. I've heard that Oakworks has great customer service, though, so I imagine they'll have some good advice for Pandoras_Gift.

It is definitely not the face cradle, since it squeeks when people are supine, and I have the cradle in the down position.

I stand by my original statement, only amending it to say that the wd40 won't soak in to aluminum at all. The joints, sure. I'd squirt it all over.

Hi! I have a GRW Master bodyworker that squeek when i bought it. I couldnt imagine what make the noise but then i discovered that it was the rubber under legs that makes a friction against the floor and it moves througout the table and make it squeak. Try to put a carpet under the table and se if it helps. Or cut out small pieces from a anti-slip material and put under the legs.
