State fairs

Anyone ever think of setting up at one, maybe get together with some other MT and have a booth for chair massages? I know a lot of the larger state fairs attract large crowds. For example the Ohio state fair normally attracts a couple hundred thousand people at least a year.

Lot of makreting potential or am I crazy?

It sounds like a good idea to me. I don't know how many clients you'd actually see again/become regulars at your office, but I know I am always tired/sore after a day at the fair.

I suppose the location of your setup would be key in getting as many people into your chair(s) as possible. You'd probably want to be in a heavy traffic area preferably air conditioned or shady...

I went to the taste of MN this year, in the tents of vendors, there were a pair or MTs, one table and one chair, they were pretty busy. I think that'd be a good event!

edit: when I say it'd be a good event, I mean for making a pocket full of money. It'd help with branding, if your wish is to get your biz name in the public. Esp if you could give some time to the news people that are always there.

i think it would be a good event but not sure how many clients you actually get outside of the event itself. remember that people going to a state fair come from all over the state (and sometimes other states depending on its location) so the odds of many of them who you get your hands on actually living near your office may not be as good as something else. though the money you make for the event should be good and getting your name out there would be excellent!
