The State Medical Board has permanently revoked the license of a Whitehall massage therapist who sits in jail, accused of molesting women during their massage sessions.
William Glenn Pratt, 55, of Palmetto Court on the Hilltop, was charged last week with one count of rape, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 11 years in prison.
State records show that Pratt's massage therapist license was issued in 2010. He operated My Massage LLC at 5300 E. Main St., Suite 112, in Whitehall.
He's now at the Downtown jail in lieu of $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Friday.
Pratt's lawyer, Jesse Atkins, said Pratt is not guilty and that he is "confident that the system will work."
Whitehall police said several women reported that Pratt had rubbed his genitals on their hands and bodies during massage sessions. One woman said he tried to perform oral sex on her.
On his company's website, Pratt said he charged $100 for a massage -- with $20 extra for a home visit -- and specialized in services including cancer care and hospice massage. He claimed to have worked with cancer surivors in Mount Carmel Health System "for years."
In a statement, Mount Carmel said: "We are aware of William Pratt's arrest, and we take these charges very seriously. William Pratt has never been and is currently not an employee of Mount Carmel. The safety and well-being of our patients are our top priority, and we have immediately terminated all freelance services he provides at Mount Carmel."
