Steindamm area.

Steindamm is a major junky area for hard drugs, so it's understanding that LE wants to tighten up a bit with the world cup coming. LE has always been prevelant in Steindamm for the 10 years I know of, due to the presence of minors & African/East European hard drug dealers. I've been approached several times by several under 18-year olds that were losing teeth & had the general "living dead" look about them. I have had some very good independents there, but far & few between. Usually they were students/day workers amaturishly trying to make a second income & stupidly picked a bad area to start. One girl started crying in the room even willing to return the cash, as she got so nervous & I was her first ever "date". Otherwise, I'ld recommend giving up that area until at least the word cup is over.

Hi, Any Hamburg locals out there who can fill me in on the situation round
the Steindamm area? I know it gets a bad press but have met a couple of nice ladies there when I've been in Hamburg - spent pleasant times at
the Blau Engel the Arian(?) hotels. But....last time I was there at the beginning of December hotels and girls were being shaken-down by plain clothes policemen. Got talking to one lady and she implied that it was something to do the the impending World Cup and probably temporary hassle. However another lady said the powers-that-be are intent on closing the hotels and driving the girls away. Is there anyone out there who can give me the latest on what is going on?
