Hi,

I posted on here a couple of weeks ago asking for help interpreting what some sensitive reflexes could mean. I'm doing my case studies and have been searching the internet and still can't find anything...

The problem reflex is the outer ear reflex.... I can't relate it to any of the information that the client has given me.... what might it mean?

I am also wandering if anybody has an explanation for 'loose', 'baggy' skin on the sole of the foot..?

Hi ya SPC

One of the theories behind reflexology and other healing therapies is that signs of imbalances may show in the energy body before it manifasts in the physical body. The problem is do you say to your client that they may have a ear problem. If you are right, then you are a hero, if wrong then damned as a quack.

One way around this is to make a suggestion that there may be an imbalance in the ear area or corresponding zone/s, or it may be just a localised physical problem that area of the foot. Ear reflex showing may be also be a problem with teeth, side of head/neck and even headaches. This is why the consultation process is so important. Reflexology isn't a very good diagnosic tool. There is too many ambiguties. It's better to see reflexology as a system of natural healing to provide balance and homeostasis.

As for baggy planter skin. I have noticed that but never thought much about it. May be a saggy personality .

Hi SPC,

One of the things i've noticed regarding the "ear reflex" ... if it has a hard lump and is tender. This area is like a joining point between the energies of the kidney meridian and the bladder meridian.

If you look at a map of the meridians you'll find that whilst the first kidney point is K1 and situated at the solar plexes reflex, there is an energy thought to travel diaginally up the foot towards the ear point where it joins the little toe and the badder meridian. (these two meridians are paired up in the Zang Fu table).

One of the things the kidney meridian helps to regulate is the Reproductive hormones and ability to reproduce. Does your client have any menstrual problems ?? It's also worth noting that the kidney meridian "ends in the ears" and so many women who experience problems with their cycle also have "itchy ears" sinus problems etc !!!

Don't forget Meridian Moon on top of what you said that the ear reflex is often associated with the Gallbladder meridian (4th toe) and a different set of correspondences.

I have now been working on this client for a few weeks and every time the outer ear reflex has had crystals - especially the left side. Yesterday the client also complained of pain in the left ear and pain in her upper teeth. So I am now concluding the the crystals in the outer ear reflex were linked to the ear/teeth pain that has only just 'surfaced'.

Would this be a good conclusion to draw from this?
