Hi,

This may seem a bit naive but have searched net to no avail,I have a client that would like to come to me for a treatment but has been told she carries strep b,she is not pregnant at moment but hopes to at a later stage...also i am due to start IVf next week again and wondered if treating a carrier of strep b would put my future child at risk ? i am not sure if it can be passed on through sweat particles or airborne etc?

I would think not from any answers I ahve found via net but woudl appreciate any advice from other therapists.

It is apparantly not a worry in healthy adults, but it may be worth discussing with your IVF team, even if to just put your mind at rest. I would defer treatment until you have spoken to someone who understands the complications.
