I would be grateful for any and all advice/opinions on the below.....
Last night I worked on a new client who is suffering from Dysmenorrhoea, her cycle can be anything from 45-65 days. She had received reflexology before (10 sessions from another therapist) and her cycle balanced to 28 days and pain lessened, she didn't continue treatments and her cycle became imbalanced
Last year she had 2 miscarriages.
During the consultation I asked her why she decided to have treatments - relaxation and infertility....
I explained how reflexology works - she had a good idea and knew that 'curing' isn't what it's about.
Anyway, i decided to do a general treatment with attention to reproductive system and endocrine.
If you just looked at her feet without seeing her you would swear they belong to a lady who was 6 months pregnant - her abdominal reflex zone where you can see the baby developing in a pregnant client - was extremely swollen. Her right foot leans very much to the side (fans of Chris Stromer will know this can be her preoccupied with the past)
Looking at her reactions emotionally, her right foot/side seemed to completely dominate her left - lots of congestion in neck, lungs, shoulder. I sensed her ovary reflex points were sensitive to touch -as would be the case with her presenting condition. The right hip reflex was very clicky - at the end when we talked I explained to her about relaxind uring menstruation and how this can affect out pelvic/hip ligaments. She did confirm that her right hip does 'flare' up during her period.
Having researched last night and today next week I have decided to work on her Uterus Reflex Zone using a technique suggested by Suzanne Enzer called bimanual trigger point release to relieve pain and trapped energy. Basically I find reflex centre, use thumb pressure at a right angle, press deeply into zone, maintain pressure, release slowly. Also I will use endocrine linking technique, and lots of relaxation and work on her spine/lower back.
I have suggested that she attend at least 4 sessions to begin with and then reacess.
If you think there is anything else I should look into I would appreciate it.
