#1: Don't underestimate the impact a smile makes.
#2: Never use, "Hi, do you have an appointment?" as your welcoming phrase. A nice, "Hello, how are you?" is far more refreshing.
#3: Offer a tour of the studio if it's the customer's first visit.
#4: Lead the customer through the studio by holding their hand. Got this one from Eve @EBC....so nice.
Now in context for those who care to read on......
Coordinating schedules with Miss Lacroix isn''t going so well anymore and there's only so long that I can remain a "post doc" virgin. So, I decided to pay a visit to some of Edmonton's finer (???) studios this evening. Revive was the first on my list. There was quite the intimidating scene outside the back door where 5 hostile-looking men were smoking 'weed'.. Anyway, I walked through their large cloud of blue smoke, took my hit and continued down into the studio. (Just joking, I actually held my breath.) When I entered, I was greeted by an attractive SP who seemed less than enthusiastic to welcome me. All the other ladies appeared more or less the same so I thanked them for their time and ventured out to my next destination, but only after I walked through the blue cloud one more time....lol!
I've been to Legends a few times in the past and I have always been pleased with their level of customer service. Presently, either business must be doing really well to care too much about hospitality, or clients must be so inconsiderate lately that it has started to negatively affect the ladies. The first thing the receptionist asks me is if I had an appointment in the most unenthusiastic manner. There was no, "Welcome to legends" or "Hello, how are you this evening?" Anyways, none of the SP's really made it appear that they were too interested, so I decided to take myself elsewhere.
Holy Jesus........ I walked by 3 clients (???) who were in the waiting room on my way out of Legends and I couldn't believe the lack of presentation among these individuals. No offense, but if that's how most clients present themselves, then $$$/hr is way too cheap. I was going to tell one of them to have some shame and take his $$$ to fix himself up a little bit, but I bit my tongue instead. And I digress.....
Next, I swung by "The Platinum Club". Guys, watch your step on the back door entrance. There's a 6 inch drop off when you enter. I hurt my ankle a bit on it...lol!
The moment you enter the stair well of "The Platinum Club", you're welcomed with fresh aromatic fragrances (Thumbs Up!!!). So far so good until the receptionist startled the bejeegerz out of me from around the corner with, "Do you have an appointment tonight?" Is it really that difficult to be a little more welcoming than that? Especially if they're supposed to have that "fresh, new studio attitude."
Anyways, I was there to connect with the SP's, not the receptionist, so I asked to meet the ladies. The receptionist, Miss Selina, did a wonderful job of asking me for my name so that the SP could use it during the formalities. (Another Thumbs Up!!!) I might have stayed If only the hospitality was more consistent and the SP who greeted me didn't look so nervous. (I'm starting to think that I look like a cop or something, cuz it's starting to get quite irritating....) Since there was no offer for a studio tour, I had to ask for one. Again, the SP appeared quite uncomfortable with the request....Luckily, "Miss Selina" came to the rescue and gave me a "grand tour".
I gave up after that and continued on with the rest of my evening; still my virgin self... One day....hopefully very soon......"I'll pop my "post doc" cherry..
Nights like this really make me appreciate studios like EBC, where, from day 1, I've felt humbled by the friendliness of their entire staff.
I hope I'm not just speaking for my self when I say this. If I am and you're an SP or a Studio Owner, please take these suggestions for whatever they are worth. I think they're fairly reasonable.
Also, feel free to add/delete any suggestions that you feel might help improve the quality of our MP's.
Thanks
