Swallowing problems in elderly

Right folks heres a tricky one and I'd appreciate a fellow pro's consult please

I have a really sweet lady of 79 who has come to me as a last resort (no pressure then!!!). I explained that it might be a tricky one and that I would be treating her holistically, although obviously concentrating on her problem.

She finds it very difficult to swallow, worse sometimes than others. May have had a small stroke (my first thought), but recovered completely in all other respects.

She may have an oesophageal pouch, no-one really seems sure what is wrong physically.

Her husband died 2 years ago and she misses him so much, which I wonder is the partial basis of the problem.

She loves the treatments and goes right off, but so far no improvement in swallowing. I tried IHM and reiki last time too, but still no improvement. Six treatments so far.

She also has severe arthritis and is in a lot of pain but doesnt seem to consider the reflex may help that.

Her toes are quite malformed with 2nd toe sitting on top of big toe. Very large bunions. So thyroid implications, but no thyroid symptoms otherwise. Persuaded her to drink decaf tea and more water and to not restart cold baths (for arthritis) !! (Also some kind of aortic enlargement)

Any ideas. Perhaps osteopathy or some other therapy might be good for it. She keeps saying she has a lot of faith in me, but I feel I'm not living up to that.
