Swofford appointed to Massage Therapy Board - Herald & Review

DECATUR – Janie Swofford, owner of Decatur Therapeutic Massage, was recently reappointed to the Illinois Massage Therapy Board.


Swofford has served as vice chairperson of the board for the past four years and has practiced as a licensed massage therapist since 1991.


The seven-member board consists of six massage therapists, who possess a minimum of three years of massage experience, and one public member. The board advises the secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and professional Regulation on matters involving professional conduct, discipline and qualifications of candidate and licenses under the Act.


Swofford is a member of the Associated Bodyworkers and Massage Professionals, the Central Illinois Massage Therapist and Bodyworkers and is a member and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
