tanning beds

I was thinking about having a tanning bed or booth in my practice.  Does anyone know much about the Hex II tanning booth or any specific beds.  I thought the booth might be easier cause of space and cleanliness.  I t only takes 10 - 12 minutes and you don't have the white lines.Any ideas? CS

I don't know anything about tanning beds.  There is a Darque Tan right next door to the salon I work out of.  A few clients have come in for massages AFTER they tanned.  Their bodies are always HOT.  Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

I was thinking about putting a tanning bed in my office too.  I would definitely have people tan after their massage if they are visiting you for both.  One thing that I thought about instead of the bed is to purchase a self tanner spray kind of thingy.  There is a new system out that is better than anything out there.  Tanning beds can cost anywhere from about $1,800 to $20,000!  This tanning system was about $2,000 for everything you needed to begin the treatment and there is no messy over-spray etc....Just something to think about.

tanning beds are just as dangerous as laying out in the sun. maybe youd want to check out the spray on tanning systems? the salon i used to work  at has the spray on system (not the stand in booth, but the one where they exfoliate the body, then spray on)

Healthy Touch,Tanning is a controled radiation burn.That doesn't sound healthy to me.I'm encouraging you to look into other complimentary services to add to your practice & increase business capital. Don't take it from me. Do some research on tanning in general, as well as tanning beds & the effects of UVA UVB etc.

a thought...St. Tropez Body Bronzing requires no equipment purchase.  It's all done by hand and much more of a personal service (IMO).  The products aren't exactly cheap but not to the extent of these machines you've mentioned.  I think the results are pretty good too.  Just some option info.  Joe E.

Just one more caution about massage and tanning.  Some popular essential oils (lavender, st johns wort maybe, and others) are know to cause photosensitivity of the skin (i.e. sun-related eczema).  My MT always advises not to go in the sun the day of a massage with any of these oils, and this is even more so for intensive tanning.  Just be careful with the oils, and make sure you know the effects of anything you use, so you can advise your clients.
