Targeting markets

I'm starting to put together some lists of groups to target who have the money to afford massage on a regular basis. One group I was thinking of is retired women with disposable income. The question is, where do they hang out?

my guess is in charitable organizations like the junior league or in country club (tennis or golf) communities.

Yeah, I would say tennis too. Do you have a high end club around? Also what about the Wisteria Lane crowd? Stay at home moms who married well are often interested in taking care of themselves via personal trainers etc. Maybe you could hook up with a trainer and trade offer to trade some massage for handing out your cards or something.

I have a number of clients who are in a tennis league&/or belong to a club and are there something to the tune of 3 times a week, minimum.

It does seem to be one of the places this type of client hangs out.

I'd also suggest you get to know the area "quilting shops". This may sound hokey, but quilting is not what it used to be. A yard of the "right" first batch fabric (which is mainly what these stores sell) is not cheap; Avg = $9.25 per yard... and it takes a lot of yards to make just the "top" of the quilt, add in the batting, thread, backing, and whatever other stuff you need to do a project like this and you can see it gets to be an expensive hobby. Most quilters aren't getting their fabric at Wal-Mart or from other less expensive alternatives any more.

And one of my clients who is very fit, and belongs to a tennis club... is a known quilter, so that's part of the reason why I am adding it here.
