I think it is not done much here. I was taught to place a warm tea bag on clients eyes. They seem to really like it.

Does anybody here do so?

I don't do this with clients. I have tried it on myself though and didn't get much from it. How long do you keep the tea bags in place? I would think as they cool it might not feel as pleasant?

I do the upper head and neck, then put the tea bags on and wrap a warm cloth about face and eyes. Then do the rest of front. The aroma is great and the tea helps the skin

I have used tea bags personally for eye issues but no, not on clients. I think it would be nice though, especially since you wrap it up to stay warmer.

What sort of tea do you use?

Are you just resting a warm cloth over the face and eyes (similar to what a facialist does) or are you doing something different? Is it moist or dry?

And, is there any particular brand or type of tea bags that you use?

Hmmm... sounds interesting but would be completely impractical for our massage center. It might be fun to experience, though.

We use Big Box of grocery store tea. Green tea - but have used herbals - but there is data that green tea helps wrinkles and relaxes the eye. Have also used black tea, but green contains polyphenol which helps reduce puffyness and wrinkles.

The face wrap is moist like a facial. But use chilled tea bags

We drink a lot of tea so use "used bags" (but never reuse them for tea and only clean cups and hot water).

A lot of clients ask for me here because they like "this trick" (and no jason, not for other reasons :altsmile: )

Not on clients, no, but when Hubby and I are both drinking our morning green tea together, I'll sometimes grab his bag and put one over each eye for a while. I find it soothing, even when it cools off. As a matter of fact, I *prefer* them cool; when they warm up because of my body heat, I'll turn them over to get the cool side on my eyes again! I don't know that I've noticed any "effects" of doing this other than the initial feeling of soothing cool moisture, but it's nice and he gets a kick out of watching me sit there with tea bags on my eyes!

Wow, that's a really great idea and I will have to try it out when I get home from work this evening. Are there any sanitary concerns to deal with? Has anyone ever had eye irritation from having the tea bags on their eyes?
