Teksavvy??

Does anyone use Teksavvy? Are they reliable? Any troubles? How is the tech support?

I am looking to get netflix and looking to get a ISP with unlimited bandwith with a low price. I am currently with Bell and they don't give me enough band width 25gb/mounth and if I want more I have to pay more $$$. Teksavvy has very reasonable prices for unlimite bandwidth. Are they good?

I found some reports that they can be unreliable, different reports of good and bad service. They piggy back of Bell or Rogers. Depends on what type of internet you want dry loop/phone line or cable. The change over can lead to several days of interuption of service. Is the headache worth the savings? Some people think it is, as long as they are not paying Rogers or Bell anymore.

Bell and Rogers will eventually force the piggy backers to follow suit. I think you are just wasting your time. You may save a few dollars for a bit but in the end you will have to pay.

Heard about a company called Acanac from a friend, but haven't personally had a chance to check them out. Maybe worth looking in to??

I think you hit it right on, and you have to watch for cancellation charges if your on contracts or set up costs.

I have no contract with Bell. I will wait to see what the cap rate with be for Teksavvy. If they are forced to be the same as Bell then would this be considered a Monopoly.

Personally I would think so but from what Ive read the crtc or whomever governs this feels that since there are some fringe players (the parasites) then the big players dont have a monopoly as something like 10% or less of the market isnt directly controlled by them. Thus we the consumer have a choice. Until the big players cap the little guys.

Interesting that this is all happening just as net flicks and so on are coming into the market.

I have heard that bell and rogers usually make joint applications to the crtc but I dont have that confirmed.
