Tendo Vaginitis ?

I recently startet working as a massage therapist in Denmark.
I have a client with a sore underarm. When I massage her mm. flexor digitorum she says it feels as if it is burning t076
I wonder if this is tendo vaginitis or epicondylitis or :?:
Please enlighten me :idea:

In Denmark and Germany tendo vaginitis is the word for it. Maybee it's different in US.

Regarding the underarm, the dictionary says forearm ... sorry.

And I thought that maybee medial epicondylitis could also give a sore forearm.

Husband (German) confirms that vaginitis is a very latin term and... and I also recalled this from school, but wanted to confirm once I got to work.

So, for those who want to learn a new word and meaning:

Per my Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary -

vaginitis -
1. Inflammation of a sheath.
2. inflammation of the vagina. SYN: colpitis

I think usually you see this in tenosynovitis of the abductor pollicus longus and extensor pollicus brevis w/ de Quervain's disease, but I figure you could have something else as well.

Interesting, and a little jarring, but that's medical terminology for ya! My apologies.

If it's inflammation, it's hard to say. Doing myofascial techniques could loosen things up so the inflammation goes away. On the other hand, it might be good to ice the forearm to reduce inflammation. Not quite enough information here. What other signs have you observed?

Yes, massage can help the forearm/underarm discomfort. Sometimes using a chucking motion will help as will trigger pointing the specific site of discomfort. Also, in some instance stripping the muscles will assist in relief as well. IF there is medial epicondylitis involved there is an OrthoBionomy release for it that is "quick and easy" that aids in clearing the joint portion of the problem your client may be having.

Have your tried cross fiber friction? Neuromuscular work? ALSO, please try working over the carpals really well to ensure that the wrist and the portion of the hand between the thenar and hypothenar eminences are well relaxed so that portion of the "equation" is also taken into consideration. Releasing any additional tension that may exist in the wrist because of hypertonicity in the forearm/underarm may be assistive to you in your endeavors on your clients behalf.

Burning can also be described when experiencing nerve pain.
Radial/Ulner nerve deviations can cause this.

The word "vagina", in latin, means "sheath".

The carpal tunnels could be what is being referenced, especially if we're talking about the flexor/extensor digitorum.
