Thai Foot Massage

As a Reflexologist I would like to offer my clients that little extra, and I was thinking about thai foot massage which incorporates feet, legs and hands. From what I can gather it is a cross between Reflexology and Shiatsu.

Has anybody else taken a course / had it done to them?

How was it for you? Was it very painful?

Is it worth doing as a practitioner? I must say, it sounds wonderful, but I know very little about it.

Hi Jane,
I backpacked through thailand last year, and whilst there discovered the absolute delights of Thai Massage. I then holed up on one of the smaller islands and was lucky enough to get a local practitioner to teach me the techniques. In general, it's a great treatment, although some people can find it quite painful as a fair amount of pressure tends to be used. But if you can adapt it to your clients needs then they will definately benefit from it. I found it wonderful for loosening up my body, and am in fact planning on studying it in more depth next year so i can offer it as a treatment.
