The Association of Osteomyologists

Hi all,
I recieved an email from these people in the week with several attachments which I've not opened. They claim to be a dedicated group for all manual therapists but I've never heard of them.
Does anyone know anything about these people and whether I should even entertain this email from them?

Yes, I've also had an email and a letter through the post, listing various CPD seminars. The address they give is local to me.

Hi there, I have had dealings with the the Association, and I have to say I have found them very helpful. I think they were started by Osteopaths, who were unhappy with the politics involved when everything was regulated (the same applies to some chiropractors that I know too). They aim to offer insurance and membership to therapists who dont come under the normal categories or have done training deemed to be 'unaccredited' ( if you look at some of my other postings on here you will see what I think about the state of the uK accredation systems).

As far as I can see, they are a genuine company, offering genuine CPD workshops, and as I said, they seem to be helpful.

The Association of Osteomyologists calls itself a 'professional association' but 'osteomyology' is not a recognised health profession in the UK (nor, as far as I am aware, anywhere else in the world). There are no recognised qualifications in 'osteomyology'.


My advice - use a poper association in your chosen field.
