Crawford County Sheriff's investigators raided three massage parlors Thursday.
Several arrests were reported, and more are possible, according to Sheriff Daniel Perry.
Perry, who took office in January, said there had been citizen complaints about the parlors.
Investigators were seen Thursday seizing computers from offices. Two of the massage parlors are located on Fayetteville Road in Van Buren and one is located near U.S. 64 and U.S. 71 in Alma.
Perry reported Thursday that the investigation started with assistance from other agencies.
"Crawford County Sheriff’s Office along with assisting agencies executed three search warrants today (Thursday) on local massage businesses in Crawford County for suspected illegal activities," Perry posted on the department's Facebook page. "We would like to thank the other agencies for assisting our agency and the ongoing investigation."
Sheriff's investigators were unavailable for comment Friday. Charges had not been filed Friday by the Crawford County prosecuting attorney's office. Search warrants were not available Friday, but those arrested are expected to make initial court appearances on Monday.
The names of the people arrested were not released.
