Got to say that the ancient Chinese systems got this one right. They must have been thinking of us "male customers". So, am thinking that in the context of Asian massage spas, this should be translated as The Year of the Customer.

I don't think the Asians would appreciate any references regarding their customs and traditions being compared with massage services..Asians are proud, respectful people who honour their customs and traditions...I suggest they would like to keep massage services separate from their admirable heritage..m

No doubt that the Chinese are a proud people. Actually an amalgam of over 50 ethnic groups. The traditions and customs evolved over thousands of years, agreed. However since 1949 much of what was sacred and honourable was ripped apart, and the past 30 years was a story of greed and corruption amongst the elite of the communist party filling the void of what was at one time a soulful and cultivated civilization. In the past two decades, have had first hand experience of business life in the mainland. Unfortunately when the heart and soul of a people is ripped out over several generations, the void does get filled, and not necessarily by values and honourable traditions of the distant past. People model themselves after the new elite. So in case, someone is waxing poetic about the honourable past, I stand on my observation that the massage scene (Chinese) you see in Canada is a truer reflection of today's reality in that society. Money is the new God. So how about the Year of the Customer?

For those who want to learn more about ancient Chinese values and honourable traditions, would suggest that you will discover them more easily in Taiwan, or even Malaysia, Thailand, as the cultured people fled there for refuge from the genocide perpetrated by Mao's Red Army decades ago.
