THERAPY SWAP

i have read many-a-many a post on here saying about therapy swap so here i am going to see if we can get it going!!!!!

So......is anyone interested in trying, if we can, to see if we can get something going where treatments can be exchanged for treatments??? i am very interested in setting something up as i miss having reflexology and would also like to try all the other treatments out there as they interest me greatly.

maybe the first thing we need to do is see who is interested in doing this and who would be interested in joining up for this?

and then see which areas of country people come from to get an idea of who is in each others area?

if anyone has any other suggestions then please feel free to add to the thread...................[sm=jump2.gif]

or on the other hand tell me to shut up if its a bad idea.........

I do paint wine glasses, and picture frames, with your name on, and significent dates on the eg, birthday anniversary, please say its acceptaple

I think it's a superb idea, & I think that it's even better if there are people in this our "HP Family" who have things other than 'therapies' to offer or (trade) as it would negate the need to use that 'stuff' (money).

I live in Buckingham (well a village next to Buckingham - but near as dam it) and I can offer Reflexology, Reiki, Spritual Healing, Tarot & Psychic Readings, Massage and Tai Chi (but you better be prepared to be very dedicated for that one).

It is also worth knowing that as an independant Recruiter (of some 16 years) I can offer to help you change jobs, give advice about your CV and interview techniques. Although my markets are mainly Sales and Marketing Individuals within the High Tech Communications industry.

So I think it would be a great idea to create a resource that identifies what people are prepared to offer both in therapies and other skills/services in order that we could trade with each other.

Ya never know, we may have Lawyers, Doctors, Dance Teachers, Speciality Cake Makers etc.. etc.. can you imagine - your own little 'consumer-culture' revolution

You'd probably have to get Mike to set it up somehow, but a question worth putting to Gilly anyway eh?

Hi all,

I think this is a very good idea - at the moment, I can only offer swedish massage, but I'm training in clinical & holistic aromatherapy, so that may be available later in the year.

I think the whole 'skills swap' idea is great too - although I'm not sure I have any to offer!! I am a bit of an internet anorak, so I'm a mine of useless information and recipes containing chocolate and/or alcohol (in moderation, of course [8D]). I'm also a practical person rather than a creative one, so I can sometimes help my more artistic friends with how to actually do or make the clever things they want to to.

I was going to say this is a cool idea - but can anyone tell me whether 44 is a bit old to be using 'cool'!!!!!

I am up for it. As you know I am in the North West, Wirral to be exact and my friend Honeybee is close by, but not close enough and swopping treatments in George Henry Lees in Liverpool or Hennes (now that is cool Tranquility and we are the same age as you) might be a bit messy. ... we might get oil on the Ladies Separates.

Count me in. PLEASE.

I think it is a really good idea. I do aromatherapy massage, full body massage, facial cleanse & massage and reflexology. I think Roger offers a really good service as well that would be of interest. I live in the West Midlands though

LMAO...So, OK. I admit that perhaps it was a bad choice of avatar; but let me at least explain – and then if you still hate it – I’ll go back to the one I had before perhaps eh?

The thinking behind it was that when I look at the sperm fighting to get to the egg, it knows what it’s trying to do (we think) – but has no idea or concept what it will become (i.e. A human being)
to me this is a metaphor that reminds me that we as humans are always guessing and second guessing what is the right route as we strive to achieve that spiritual ‘goal‘ call it God if you want … but even if we do ‘penetrate’ that ‘spiritual egg’ we have no real idea or concept of what we are to become – yet like the sperm, we know inherently that we’ve just got to get there somehow…


It doesn't really work for you does it.... Shall I change it back?
