IIRC there is a breed of chimp that is extremely close to humans that does use sex in a purely social manner regardless of gender. I believe they are called banobo chimpanzees.

Yes...bonobos use sex to reassure one another during times of stress. Mostly it's the males though. I'm not aware of any lesbian species outside of humans.

I'd just make sure I chose a species that can lick it's own genitals....just in case you end up alone in a zoo or something.
