Thx again Sarah, interested to know if you've ever worked with or had patients work with a Kinesiologist alongside the Reflexology? Just wondered whether something in Kinesiology may give me a steer?
I understand your thoughts on focussing on positives. I do this, although I have to admit sometimes it can be difficult, and have been using meditation CDs, EFT and CBT along the way. I've had to pull together a lot of tools to help me get through all of this!
There was a time when I left becoming pregnant to reflexology and positive thinking and unfortunately both times it took 9 mths to become pregnant. This on top of having miscarriages is a painful double whammy. It was only when I looked for other answers and tried different things did I become pregnant. So I guess tough experience has taught me that I have to be my own advocate. This has been proven again and again. If I had stuck with the NHS I'm sure they would have just let me have more miscarriages. Unfortunately, in general, there don't seem to be many people willing to help on this topic of recurrent miscarriages. You often feel at the bottom of the pile. However, I tried not to let this beat me and wanted to try to carve a path for myself and one that I could give hope to others too.
I also feel the need to be proactive as the immune treatments we have done typically only last for a certain amount of time, 4-6 mths. We have spent £2.5k in consultations and tests. I've taken Humira which is normally used for Rh Arthritis patients in order to re-balance my cytokines. We had to pay for this ourselves and it cost £1600. We have also undergone LIT which is where my Husband's white blood cells are injected into me, this is to make my body more accepting of our embryo, £2k. Once pregnant I will be on steroids until 12 wks, heparin, low dose aspirin and will have intralipids infusions.
After 5 miscarriages and the NHS washing their hands of us we needed peace of mind going forward, that we were doing all we could to hopefully alter the outcome next time. Immune tests showed that reproductively this could be the answer for the miscarriages. After a year of trying not to conceive we have been cleared to try and that is why it is quite important that we do all we can to conceive and is why I am using all my experience of what has helped us conceive before and trying to get others opinions to help us.
I am very much for using natural means and as you will be able to tell while we suffered the 5 miscarriages we used natural therapies and I wanted to stick to this. Unfortunately we did then have to turn to conventional medicine, after the miscarriages, to help but I have continued the reflex, acu and herbs in order to keep myself as balanced as possible while undergoing immune treatment.
I did say at the start that I had a long story which I wasn't sure anyone would want to hear but felt it was important to put it into context. Perhaps it may help someone else reading in the future.
Thank you Sarah and if you have any other thoughts that may help me, or anyone else who is reading, I would very much appreciate them.
