Well, here I am again. I was just curious. I met most of my girls at the Tiger Disco. YEah, I liked the FL scene better then the bars. For one, I don't drink, and two, they're aggressiveness turned me off, "come my bar, have a drinkie" just wasn't a turn on for me.

How many of you had luck at the Tiger too? This was seemingly the only one open with any action happening. I didn't really hang at Banana's or Dragon. It really seemed Tiger's had all the action, esp. round 1:30-2:30.

I've met all my GFs either at bars(ladybars and regular bars), on the streets, in shops, or introduced by friends. I've gone to Tiger quite a bit, but always with one or more girls in tow. I haven't picked up girls at discos since I was in college, so that all seems a bit odd to me, like who is who. I can't tell the players without a scorecard. In the ladybars, it's quite obvious. I also don't like the "come my bar, have drink," aggressive approach, but I pay no mind to them and just keep cruising until I spot someone I like.

The one thing you said that strikes a chord with me though is that you say you don't drink. I haven't had drink innearly 3 months, and have to confess :embrassed that since I've been sober I kind of like it this way. In the past, I've really drank way too much, both in US and in LOS. I am wondering if I will be able to cut down on the drinking when I go back to LOS because it is such a part of the socializing which I enjoy there. I think maybe I should take a tip from you and try the FLs in Tiger or Tai-pan. I guess if I hung out a bit I would figure out who is who and what is what after awhile. But I still don't understand how you can tell if you like a girl when you cna't talk to her because the music is to loud to hear what she is saying. It is hard enough in a bar which is not as loud as a disco, because of the fact that thye don't speak English well, nor do I speak Thai well.

I have to say from the little experience i have, that i found it nearly impossible not to drink in los. What with the pressure of the bg's (i know its them trying to get ladydrinks and make money for the bar!) and the cheap drinks. I found it impossable to stay dry.

But when in tiger or banana. I found it quite easy to spot fl. It think it may have something to do with the fact that in England, there are lots of 'slappers' about.

i met a girl in dragon my last time and i could tell i liked her plenty when her a** was grinding into me and she was practially doing a handstand on the ground in front of me! plus the fact that she didnt run away when utherman asked her to show him her t**s, i knew she was a keeper!

Its funny to see you boys saw you "spotted" a FL at the discos. I found it hard to find a girl that wasnt a FL. They're ALL FLs at those discos! That's why I had my best luck at those places. I think the FLs just were more attractive to me. I mean the bbs did too, but they were hard to see with all the aggressive girls pulling on me. Of course, after awhile it became a game with them. And there were some cuties that I started pulling away from the their bar too. Funny thing when I think of it.

As for talking with them...I always had to talk right in their ear which got old after awhile, so after some floor grinding, I always asked them to go outside. That way I caught some air, could talk to them more relaxed, AND did the lighting check. That's crucial since they seem to change once they have some natural light on them. I said ladah days to a few of them after that lighting check! A MUST DO!

Lighting check is an absolute must. That is why I like Soi Eric. The bars there are very well lit so you can see what you get. Also must always make them laugh, so you can check the teeth!

BTW, Ahyes, you ought to take your daughter with you to LOS. She would love to ride the elephants, go to beach, see the sights. You wouldn't have to go to bars to meet ladies. They would all be after you, when they see good father with happy daughter!!!!!!

In my first tour, I would not have known that any of the girls in discos were FLs, except that one I picked up on the street told me she worked Banana. That tour I went to Banana a few times alone. Never met any girls, didn't stay long, everyone seemed unfriendly, nobody even smiled at me. One very hot girl, I hung out next to, trying to get her attention, but she wouldn't even look in my direction, totally ignored me. Some Asian guys and other girls came then and she sat with them. I assumed they were all Thais, but maybe were tourists? Also it was Xmas, and there seemed to be no girls there w/o guys, and were more guys than girls. At Shark Club, I had a date, but there again, I saw very few girls who were unaccompanied. At Tai-Pan, when I went in early in the evening, was hardly anyone there, didn't see any attractive girls. Went later with a date, two girls tried to pick me up while my date was in the restroom. It didn't even occur to me that they were working. They split when my date returned. So this was my initial impression of the discos.

2nd tour. Went to Tiger most nights. Always with a girl, usually with two, sometimes with 4 or 5. None of them were FLs. Several times I took BGs there, but since they were with me, they didn't try to pick up guys. Most nights, though, I went with girls who were not FLs or BGs, but were GFs of Thai bartenders, bartenders themselves or worked at hotels. None of them ever approached guys or were interested in picking up guys. Some times they would look at guys they found attractive and giggle a lot and occasionally flirt, but I quite frequently found myself having to chase guys away who were bothering them, because they had no intention of going w/ a farang, and would get freaked out if a guy got too aggressive with them. So, what I saw was farangs trying to pick up Thai girls who didn't want to go with them and this was my impression of the place. It was obvious to me that some of the girls there were FLs, but they were the most flamboyant, and with most I couldn't tell if they were FLs or TGs like the ones who came with me. With the ones I brought, it was mostly like girls night out with me as the host, buying drinks and looking out for them.

Also, when I went to discos in Chiang Mai with a TG, it was mostly Thai men and girls there. Very few farangs, no FLs at all.

3rd tour, in Patong, was mostly with same girl. Took her to Tiger. Went out on the dance floor. She just stood there. Didn't move a muscle. Turns out she can't dance. We sat up in the balcony, next to the bass speakers, which were blowing out my eardrums, and watched people dance. Didn't go back. I sure can pick 'em.

So far having my daughter with me around here in the US hasn't really worked. I usually get some old lady admiring my daughter, which is fine since my little girl is a beauty, but of course I'd rather have some nice young hottie.

Also, with the air not being so great in Thailand and the way the traffic patterns and drivers run, it's not a safe place for her. I'd be so stressed to make sure she was safe it wouldn't be a fun time for me.

Living in America, I can say that this is so true. And that is exactly why someone from America is so paranoid about something happening to their child. It is an everyday occurence that children in the US disappear and are either never seen or heard of again or they find their abused body in the woods in a ditch or a shallow grave. This is shocking, but unfortunately true. You can not turn your back, and let your child out of your sight for a minute. People who have made that mistake have regretted it. I live in an area that is considered to be a very safe area, but several years ago, a girl named Polly Klaas was in her bedroom, having a pajama party with two friends who came to spend the night. Her mother was asleep in the next room. A man silently broke into the house, grabbed her and took her away. He had been watching her play in the park near her home and followed her and her mother home. That night he came and took her. I knew people who lived in her neighborhood. We searched the woods around the town, and distributed posters with her pictures on them, but to no avail. They found her lifeless body in the woods 30 miles to the north. So the fear here is not just because of overprotective parents with vivid imaginations. It is real. BTW, the man is now on death row awaiting execution.

A very good friend of mine has two exceptionally beautiful blonde girls. She has been with them to LOS several times. The girls love it, and she said that she feels much safer with them there than in America. She says that the people there are always wonderful to her and her children.

Hmmmm, very scary, fully understand your concerns.........your last paragraph should put your mind at rest re LOS, anyway good luck with parenthood sounds like though work, but no doubt very rewarding !

Ah yes

I know exactly what you mean about feeling more at ease in Tiger. I do not like "the artificial bar propper scene". In Tiger I have the impression that you pick up a normal girl. I know it's all about the money, but it's just the impression that makes it feel different.

The first time I was in Patong I remember that a lot of girls in Tiger were trying to bullshit me, telling me they were only tourists, or business-girls on a bussiness trip. Yeah right...It's all fl's.

If you walk to the toilet in Tiger it gets quite agressive as well sometimes, you get pinched in the **** by a lot of girls...Luckily (for them) it's not while I'm sitting on the toilet-seat and doing my thing.

On a regular night in Los I first go out for dinner at +/-19h, then drink some beers in bars and at 23 or 24h, I go to a disco.

Within 4 weeks I leave for Brazil again (second time, first time was in May 2004, now it's going to be Recife and Fortaleza again) but then in feb 2005 I'm thinking about going to Phuket for two weeks on my own. It has been 1,5 year since my last visit to Thailand, and that's way to long.
