I stopped staying at TJ hotels after I got an apartment in Tijuana, so it's hard for me to remember which hotel has what Internet service. If I remember correctly, the Lucerna on Paseo de los Hereos has Internet connections. Probably the Publo Amigo too. (You could call and ask.)

In general, Internet speeds in TJ aren't what you get in the US. The maximum Cablemas residental speed just went from 1024 to 2048, not much by US standards. So I'm not sure if you'll be able to do much with streaming video in TJ.

Internet massageplanetes are everywhere. At $1.50 an hour they're cheap too. Like others, I'd suggest leaving your laptop at home, using an Internet massageplanete while in TJ, and not planning on doing anything that requires a fast 'net connection.

FYI: Pornography is illegal in Mexico (even tame stuff like Playboy). Making/distributing porn will get you a long sentence in prison. If I were bringing a computer to Tijuana I'd be sure it didn't contain any porn, nor would I use it for something like editing pictures of nude/semi-nude chicas. (If caught the best you could hope for is losing your laptop.)

I wouldn't go walking around too much with a laptop computer in TJ. Not a safe idea- shit a cop might jack you for it.

Well, well, we have some tech problems here to resolve ! First of all I have not seen any hotels in Zona area or revolution area having high speed internet. Your connection through Time Warne is a Cable provided connection. Cable here meaning internet through cable tv connection. Now to answer your question, yes you can connect to a connection with a wire cable (RJ45) or LAN cable provided that hotel has internet connections and cable sockets in the room. You would not need any changes in setup, this is through Windows software which is built into your PC. You would have to choose, Network, Connections, LAN, simple as that. But the most imp thing is you have find a hotel which provides internet through landline cable. Most of it nowadays is wireless for which ofcourse you would need to have a Wireless card, which costs around 40$ after mail in rebates
My best advise to you is, just use the internet massageplanetes on revolutions, costs you a dollar an hour to surf on the massageplanete computers Aah ! I got an idea. If you still want to use your laptop, go to the internet massageplanetes, and they will probably hook you up at an extra cost.
And remember you dont want to go back from TJ, minus your laptop, besides also minus your dollars

I have never been to TJ, will be there at a place that has HiSpeed internet that requires cable, which is good, my program is streaming video and cannot use wireless. My question is, I have Timer Warner in US, will just connecting cable allow my laptop to function normally, or do I have to go into connections and reset something? Thanks...Don
