Actually, it means that what they're about to say might offend you but they don't mean it to....this is usually followed by the brutal truth lol....

I say that all the time to customers who have wacky ideas about what's right in the renovation and what's not. For example: Just today I had a customer who painted their stairs yellow where the rest of the floor is oak. I said to him "no offence but YELLOW? What were you thinking"???

"touch base" is annoying but I really hate when passive-aggressive people ask someone if they're "okay". As in, "are YOU okay"? Why ask this stupid question when you really don't care anyway.
