Towels, couch roll...??

Hello there,

I have a simple question for you lot. What do you use on your massage couch? Towels, couch roll??
At the moment, I use fresh towels (one on the couch and one on the client) for every client (I don't have many yet) but I can see how it could mean running my washing machine 4 times a day! :S

What's the secret? Do you use couch roll on top of the towel and change the towel every day or whatever? Do you use a professional laundry service?

Just towels, no couch roll, thats why I might be a bit more expensive in my area. If I go anywhere with couch roll I lift it to check how flat the pile is underneath.

I have loads and loads and loads of towels, i prefer them to couch roll which is far too clinical for me I think, it looks horrid, feels horid and is a nightmare when you turn over!!!!

I have been been buying a fleece/throw from a major store £2.00 and giving one to each of my clients that l visit. It feels nice and soft on the skin looks great on the couch and the client thinks l've treated them, (Shhh it's included in the price) then on return visits they generally use theirs and it stops them thinking who's been on it. Having said that l use towels to cover clients.

Couch cover under, and 2 cot sheets over for every client (3-5 per day). I use cellular blankets or a fleecy throw over the top if they are still chlly. I use an electric blanket at this time of the year to keep the couch snug. Couch covers and cot sheets thrown in a cool wash at the end of the day, then stick them on the clothes horse over night.
I won't use couch roll. If I go for a treatment where it is used, I don't go back!

I like the idea of cot sheets and couch covers because the towels take so much space in the washing machine, I can only put 3 at a time!

I use a brushed cotton sheet over my bodyChusion and another brushed cotton sheet to cover the client. Thats when I'm not doing Lomilomi. Then the client lies directly on the table with a thin, folded sarong to cover the client. Minimal laundry.

hi mancalty, these sound like a wonderful idea, could you pm where you get them plz , thanx,
i use a couch sheet then towels on clients, any tips how to keep them fluffy ( i bought good quality ones), they are ok for a while , we have no room for a tumble dryer and our house towels end up like sandpaper after a while lol, i prefer towels to bed roll, waste of time and money.

I've started using EasyDry disposable towels! Setup now consists of:

Fitted sheet on table
Base towel
EasyDry towel for the client to lie on
Then top towel for draping.

This cuts down my washing by 50% and its very eco-friendly. I also use the EasyDry to offer a hot towel at the end of the treatmet.

I like the EasyDry concept but aren't their bath towels a little short for a massage table?

They are yes, but what I do is just a hand towel across the bottom of the table where the feet are.

I only ordered 100 bath towels in my initial order with a load of standard size and small towels. Next time I will order more bath and standard towels and not bother with the small ones. I am also going to ask about having the bath towels made longer to completely cover my table.

I've been using a couch cover and couch roll and then two towels to cover the client but after reading everyones posts here I think I might stop using couch roll. I hate the stuff anyway and I really don't like all the waste and it costs quite a bit too and I'm trying to bring my costs down. So I think I might go buy some towels and sheets and give that a go.
