tp locator/stimulator

One of the instructors at my school has a device called a solotens. He got it a few years ago and it is used to locate trigger points and then it zaps them. It is so cool. I want one just to use on myself. I have looked online and have only found a couple of similar products. The one the instructor used had a grounding line to put on the wrist. The others I've seen do not. One was the pointer excell and the other one was called superpen or something. Do any of you use these products or know more about them?

Hi, a fellow therapist brought in a similar device. I liked itso well, I ordered the "pointer plus" from austinmedical.com. It's on special right now.....

I have used a Pointer Plus for years...it was about $50 at the time. It's useful for work on acupressure points, too.

Yay! I'm so glad somebody has. I wasn't getting any response for a while and I thought I must be nuts. I just want to be sure that it works and is worth the money. I'm almost done with school (8 more weeks!!!) and I'll be paying student loans etc. so I didn't want to save for something not worth it.

I don't like to use the cord with the grounding device...it's cumbersome, so I ground the circuit through myself, which has the advaneforum.xxxe of my also being able to feel how intense the current it.

It's a great little helper to have in your toolbox for acupressure and stubborn TPs, but you can work very effectively without one. Once you get so busy that you really do NEED something that can help save your hands at the end of a long week, the means will "suddenly" become available to buy one. Don't worry about it in the meantime. :wink: Sometimes I go a couple of weeks without pulling it out, but then, I prefer to do all my work "hands-on" with the bare minimum of mechanical or artifical helpers.
