I was down in Mexico yesterday, and had no issues at all with this protest. I crossed from US to Mex, at about 1145 and crossed back about 4ish, only had a 15 minute wait to get back across, this was via vehicle.

Well maybe you don't hear well or you just got bad info....there is a protest scheduled to day to block traffic out of TJ by University students and their professors...It should be done by 4pm or ealier...There is not talk about tearing down the bridge, but there has been discussion about closing it, and the resolution is that it is closed a couple nights a week in the wee hours for cleaning.

The bridge does present a security risk as when crossing you can see directly into the secondary inspection area. It would be best if a canopy would be built to block the pedestrian view. Also there has been some violence in the wee hours of the morning, so closing it for a few hours is an option. They are exploring other options they are exploring as well.

I heard on the news today there is some protest
going on on the 5 fwy and they have closed the
border. I also heard a rumor they are thinking of
tearing down the pedestrian walk at San Ysidro.
I am wondering when I can hire a coyote to smuggle
me to TJ and then I will have to hire another one to
smuggle me into the US so I don't have to wait in
a line for 2 hours?!
