Traveling with Clients

Gosh....I'd have to charge extra, extra, EXTRA for that if they are to take up that much of my time!!One time, I did fly to St. Martin to do massage and fortune telling (my former part time occupation) for the company that hired me, to entertain their clients.  I was paid $180 per day for 3 days, and my travel, meals, and villa were paid for.  It was in April during the Heineken Regatta, and I got one of the last available places to stay on the island, which was fine, because it was a gorgeous villa with an unbelievable view!  My days were free to do as I wished, and I only was needed for work for 4 hours per evening. I took it, even though it was much less than my usual rate, as the company went through a great expense for my food, travel, and lodging, otherwise, and it was an opportunity of a lifetime!

Gday This is a tricky topic. I too have been approached by one of my high profile clients to travel on tour with him. He has asked me to go with him to a tournament in January and see how I like being on tour with him and see how it goes. A trial run might be the way to go. I have spoken to a sports lawyer ( one of my clients)briefly and he suggested that I would have to be paid a retainer for any money lost from my practice at home, have all expenses paid for and also a wage.  BUTObviously each person and each athlete has different circumstances and requirements( ie family, business etc)and therefore you will have to consider the long term prospect of this for you and your client. Make sure you way up all of your options.I would also love any advice also from anyone who has experienced this. Thanks guys. This forum is greatMatt
