Treatment after removal of verucca

Hi

I have a client who is having her verucca frozen off on the day of our next Reflexology treatment.

Not having had any veruccas frozen off myself i wondered what was involved and if it was painful.

Will it leave the area sore and is the area covered.

Just wondering how long it should be left if my treatment is to be rescheduled?

Any ideas??

Hi,

I have never treated anyone with a recently removed verruca but would think that it may be tender for your client, also depending on what area on the foot the verruca was. Would your client be prepared to wait a week or so for treatment. Personally I would rather wait to treat.

When I was younger I had a verucca (well it was several) frozen off.

Effectively the freezing is the same as frostbite. It kills the skin and flesh in the immediate area of the freezing. The freezing part itself is not so painful, it's when it starts to warm up again that it hurts. This may also depend on which part of the foot it's on and how large an area is being frozen.

It may be an idea to suggest to the client that they leave it for a few days after their freezing as you don't want them to experience any discomfort from the reflex.
