trouble at Arcadas

Well, this has been one of my favorite places for a while but I have to report an incident that happened to a member (I was eyewitness). It happened as follows.

It was a Sunday night, slow. One of the girls (I think her name was Katherina but I can't recall for certain) hooked up with the 'victim' and he decided to take her up to a room upstairs. First off, he was charged 10k colones instead of 9k. Then, when he got to the room, the girl wanted another 10k for 'sexo' which she said wasn't included in the first 10k. If she had pulled this on me she wouldn't have gotten away with it but the other member was a first timer at Arcadas and didn't know he was being scammed. He was horny and paid the extra 10k. She was a poor performer, according to the monger, and had the NERVE to ask for a 'propina' on top of ripping him off!

When he got downstairs again, he told me what happened and I raised a nice stink, in Spanish, with the bartenders. There was no manager there that night. At any rate, I made it quite clear that I would not return unless the girl was fired. I haven't been back yet so I can't say if she's gone or not. Also, both of the guys with me felt their sessions were shorter than the half hour they paid for. This has been a complaint before about Arcadas, though I can't see why they would try to shave a few minutes off a half hour session on a slow night when rooms were plentiful. But when you hear a complaint enough times, you tend to believe it.

At any rate, I'll update this post when I find out if the culprit has been fired or not. So beware is all I can say. BTW, the girl in question was apparently a nica, mid height, longish wavy hair, average (for Arcadas) build.

Interesting. I ventured into that place after visiting Molino Rojo, and only ended up staying about 20 minutes.

This is the only place in SJO that I ever recieved a bad vibe about. Something about it made me want to leave early, and after reading this Im glad I didnt partake!

Oh well good thing I left anyways, I ended up down at some Dominican bar with some hawwwwwwwt chicas

best chick that I ever had was from there. 28 yr. nica, she spent tln with me 3 different nights, for cheap! Actually, I fell in love with the chick(she has since returned to nica, never to be heard of again) i have had bad experiences there though, including the last trip when they hit me for initially, 3000 col. for a drink, then brought the chica a bottle, which was gonna be 15,000 col., I said Phuck you, they will rip you off!!! My whole problem started there about 1 1/2 years ago, when I took the best looking girl there, her name is MONICA, she got pissed when I went for the other chica, since then, they try to rip us!!!(gringos) BE CAREFUL!!

I have also been to Arcadas a number of times. I agree that the "vibe" is not as friendly or as relaxed as Molino Rojo or as fun as Margaritas. Most recently I went on a Wed night and was charged a 2000c entrance fee, which seemed high to me based on earlier visits, especially for a week day. This did include a single drink. There is now a sign above the bar that beers are 900c. This compares to Molino Rojo at 800c entrance including one drink during the weekdays and a beer otherwise 700c. I have not been cheated on girl/room charges, but paid 9000c each time. I have frequently had the prettier girls try to short me on room time, especially the beautiful blond MONICA. In fact, she did not allow me to even kiss her breasts or neck, no DATY, satisfactory CBJ, okay intercourse. A very mechanical service, not recommended. Once the stocky-heavy manager with short black hair said to me in english "don't forget to give me a tip for the (girl) recommendation." That was unbelievable to me, as I was the one to pick out the girl. They are also wanting tips for the cleaning lady (although I really dont have a problem passing out a few hundred colones to that woman when I am there). But all in all not a pleasurable experience on most visits when compared to the other places around. Of course, maybe I am picking out the high maintanence girls because they look the best. YMMV. Jackblack, Monica is a hot number, has been there as long as anyone and have never chose her as I never got a warm reception and I like the sleazziness of Molino Rojo as well for being more freindly in general.rbc100

They charged me 9K last week so sounds like you got the gringo price like our freind who was with us.I have been a regular for a couple of years so they know me.I however was not happy to be shorted on time though the girl was not very good so not such a big deal as if she was good. I have taken the place of my recommended list for now as there are better options that offer good service in the same price range. rbc100

Update: I was there last night, on my way to the Molino Rojo (and after a few other spots, more on that later.)

I spoke to the wife of the owner at length about the problem last week, and she seemed to believe me but wasn't ready to fire the girl based on one person's testimony. My friend made the mistake of choosing the same girl while I was talking to the manager. He didn't get ripped off other than a mechanical performance. At any rate the manager/owner's wife seemed concerned and I expressed my concern about the time thing too. I did end up at the Molino Rojo and had a fantastic time with a little spinner that dances there sometimes and does a trick with a beer bottle. I hate to share but this little sweetie is wonderful, five stars, and only 7500 colones. I gave her 1000 Colone tip and she actually seemed GRATEFUL! amazing. I'll find out her name for y'all when I get tired of her. Might be a while though...

I agree with RBC, sometimes when you're in a certain mood, that sleazinesss of Molino Rojo really can get me off...... last november, I was trolling the BM and the it was thanksgiving weekend and the chicas were holding out for that cien more than I was used to..... so I headed over to Molino rojo, picked up a hot Nica and she rode me hard for 40 minutes..... defintely worth the 10 or 12 mil col...... whatever it was...

I also have had a TLN with molino rojo girl. I was not quite as good a negotiator as you, but settled on around 40,000 c for the night. Additional 5000 c exit fee as you said. It actually turned out to be a fantastic date, as we left the bar around 11 PM and headed to the dance clubs in Barrio Amon (the big complex with lots of clubs/bars inside main gates-el pueblo?). This was very cool to have an spinner as an escort. We drank and danced for a number of hours, then headed back to my hotel. She really turned heads at the club we chose, since she was wearing a very flashy outfit (not her MR outfit).
My girl choice was not random, as I had had an intense sexual encounter with her the evening before at MR. We were quite compatible. Lots of fun at the club, excellent GFE sex at my hotel. We agreed on 20,000c at the start of our date and 20,000c the following morning.
