I had my first experience with working on someone who has had a tummy tuck, totally blew my mind, and now I have to do a little bit more research on this procedure. This isn't a new client and it is amazing what people don't think is important to share about their bodies and don't know what could possibly add to their current issues.
I have been playing the game of where are the primary trigger points for this woman for the past 2 weeks, only to find out today after questioning her a bit more that she had a tummy tuck about 2 years ago, after 2 kids. The only reason I went there, was that I asked her if she had her kids natural or a c-section, thinking about the abdominal TP's as a possibility. She said natural... then about 5-10 minutes later told me that she had a tummy tuck... She said that if she realized how extensive the procedure was she never would have gotten it done. They basically cut your lower abs, roll them up to the top, scrape out all the fat, cut off the belly button, pull all the muscle and skin back down, reattatch it, then figure out where the belly button should now go and whalah... done...
I really gave her a good ab and illiopsoas work out, and did a lot of stretching and cross fiber frictioning, showing her how to do it herself over the 2 ft long scar!!! I am going to call her to see how she is doing tomorrow... I didn't want to get too invasive, but hopefully we have gotten to the real point of what is causing her ghostly back pain.
