The new owner of the Two Black Sheep is an Aussie from Newcastle area.He took over in August.As yet there are no startling changes.The staff are the same ones.

THE TWO BLACK SHEEP

After several months of confusion the change of ownership has taken place and Bill has left the building. The new owner is called Scott and hails from Newcastle in Australia . He is making no sweeping changes and has retained the staff so everything is as before. Scott himself is in a state of blissful (or should it be pissfull?) bewilderment finding out the pitfalls of becoming a new bar owner in Patong. All I can say is look after your regulars and you will do all right. I now feel happy to venture in and have one of their all day big breakfasts without getting handed shooters by Bill. Along with breakfast you can have coffee or tea served in a big mug with as many free refills as you want. The bar has a good selection of draught and bottled beers and a long list of dangerous shooters for those on a bender.

I have visited Two Black Sheep on many occasions. Bill was from the same place in the Wellington (NZ) area that I live in now.

Friendly guy, always handing out new and adventurous shooters, while you might be drinking beer. A little bit of a challenge to the pallate, but, what the hell!

I will be over there in March/April next year and will definitely call in, as I stay at C & N Hotel usually which is diagonally opposite (and maybe a little bit).

If the new guy is carrying-on largely as usual, that's great, as it has always been a great place (to me anyway) to spend an hour or two in the afternoons after the beach, and served very good meals.

I agree with you IJ The food was pretty good,humungous portions with the roast dinner, (ie half a large chicken)
I think he served pints of Fosters IIRC.
I far prefer to drink out of pint glasses to bottles any day of the week.
Nicke,any plans to serve draught beers?

When we had draught beer, it got to the point where it wasnt worth it anymore, as every month the price of the keg went up and up and up.

With all the recent changes in bar ownerships I'm not sure which board members own what. Maybe we should update that list again.

I guess with limited space behind the bar,all the CO2 etc would take up too much room. Nice thought though,I really don't like bottled beer.
