My guess is it was probably a sinkhole that caused the collapse. Most of Southern Florida is practically a swamp. There's sinkholes happening all the time over there.

And the houses and commercial buildings don’t even have real foundations. I can’t speak for high rise buildings like this one, but my best logical hypothesis is that it was a sink hole caused by high moisture and water level in the ground. There are many houses and properties in the Miami area which report flooding and swamping in their houses. This isn’t new. I’m willing to bet as the years go on, this won’t be the first building which collapses due to rising ocean levels and ecological changes. Again, it’s just a hypothesis. Could have just been poor design or catastrophic engineering failure.

The building is going through repairs with heavy machinery at the top of thr roof. We won't know for sure till later. In the meantime thoughts and prayers for those who are still miissing
