Hello
I have been going out with my boyfriend for 2 years now. It's not a typical relationship in that we only see each other on the weekends. We talk and text on the phone everyday to every other day.
My problem is, a source of constant dissatisfaction of our relationship on my part is that he won't introduce me to his parents. I have met 2 of his cousins and he had no problem introducing me to his younger brother. His family is Ukrainian and they only got here in 1992.
I'm half asian and I have asked him if his parents would not be ok with him going out with someone outside of his race. He implied that yes this would be a problem for them.
He still lives with his parents and we are both 24 years old. I have introduced him to my semi-estranged asian mother who is racist against anyone that is not from our culture. That was big and meaningful to me but I guess it didn't mean so much for him.
I guess my biggest problem is, when I have asked him if he would break it off if his parents didn't approve of our relationship, he not only doesn't want to answer but the last time he said "I don't know, I don't think that far in the future."
We're not teens anymore we're adults and it makes no sense to be putting so much into a relationship that has a fairly good chance of being a total void. I don't have much faith to keep investing in it emotionally.
Can someone, especially of slavic descent help me out here?
