A Ukrainian woman has been jailed for four months after admitting to having touched men inappropriately in front of a Paceville massage parlour.
Snizhana Oborina, 37, who was born in Ukraine but lives in Birkirkara, was charged with soliciting prostitution and offending public morals.
Sources said the woman, who works at a massage parlour in Wilga Street, used ‘unconventional’ methods to try to entice men into visiting the premises. It is understood that the woman made unwanted advances at a number of men, and in some cases, grabbed their private parts.
Inspector John Spiteri, prosecuting, told the court that the police had received a number of complaints about the woman. The prosecution said it believed the most suitable punishment was a term of imprisonment.
Lawyer Benjamin Valenzia, who was legal aid to the woman, asked the court to consider her early guilty plea and the fact that she had cooperated fully with the police.
Magistrate Gabriella Vella handed down an effective four-month jail term
