Under-Active Thyroid

Hi all.
I am a student and completing one of my last case studies. I am just a little stuck on a treatment plan for a client with an underactive thyroid. I can't seem to find much information in books or on the net and thought this was the next best place to come for advise.
So far I have:
Thyroid
Thyroid Realated
Both to normalise function, what else should I concentrate on? Maybe the liver for it's metabolic functions.

Any help would be great.

I can't help you with the treatments but check under the forum "metabolic disorders" to see if there are any threads that can help you.

I have recently placed one myself in this forum as I do suffer with an under-active thyroid and am currently on thyroxin daily but looking for a more homeopathic/herbal solution.

I got the following from one of my reference books. "Reflexology a practical Approach by Vicki Pitman and Kay MacKenzie. Its a good book.

Reflexes - thyroid and helper area for thyroid
All of the glands - pineal, pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries
Spinal nerves
diaphragm

Liver a good idea.

Why would I work the rest of the endocrine system (just to balance?) and why the ovaries?

I was taught that if you work one of the endocrine glands you work them all
- in order to balance the system. Nicola Hall gives the Direct Reflex as Thyroid and the Associated Reflexes as Pituitary Adrenals Reproductive Areas and Eyes. The hormone thyroxin is associated with sexual development. My guess is that when the thyroid gland is underactive then the libido is also affected, the whole system becomes sluggish.

Definitly work the ovaries! I was taught that many people with thyroid probs have probs with their ovaries - be it irregular periods or unexplained infertility, and also vice versa. Work the parathyroid and the rest of the endocrine system. Any imbalance in one of the endocrine glands can cause an imbalance in another especially the pituitary and adrenals. Also work the neck area.
