OGDEN — Jail time has been ordered for an unlicensed massage therapist who pleaded guilty last month to inappropriately touching clients.
Richard Dwaileebe, 45, of Layton, was sentenced Thursday to 210 days in jail after pleading guilty last month to forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; unprofessional conduct, a class A misdemeanor; and unlawful conduct in a massage practice, a class A misdemeanor.
In exchange for the plea, an additional count of forcible sexual abuse and five counts of unprofessional conduct were dismissed.
Second District Judge Joseph Bean also ordered Dwaileebe to complete 36 months of probation, register as a sex offender and complete a sex offender treatment program. He will not be allowed to practice as a massage therapist throughout the probation.
Dwaileebe was previously investigated in 2012 and had his professional license revoked after several women at a South Ogden spa complained he inappropriately touched them, according to police. No criminal charges were filed at the time.
Dwaileebe continued to practice without a license and was arrested and charged in September after numerous women reported to police he had touched them inappropriately during massages.
Dwaileebe allegedly performed illicit massages while traveling to clients' homes, relying on word of mouth to promote his business, according to the Weber County Sheriff's Office.
