I'm 2 weekends into my training with Essentials for Health - I'm doing the Diploma in Holistic Massage. For the first half of the course, we study alongside the sports massage students (they're doing the combined Holistic/Sports Massage diploma). I had discounted the sports massage, as I didn't see myself treating athletes/sports people. However, at our latest study session on Sunday, some of them were telling me that once qualified, they will be able to diagnose, treat and manage certain types of injuries, and determine whether the injury is muscular, ligament, tendon etc., and that this doesnt just apply to sportspeople This 'remedial massage' aspect really appeals to me, and has made me wonder whether I ought to 'upgrade' onto the combined course!
I guess I am asking if people who have trained in sports/remedial massage tend to treat a broad range of people, rather than just sporting people?
thanks!
