Vaccinations and Shoulder Problems

I've recently seen some people that started having shoulder problems after receiving a flu vaccine via shoulder injection. The problems range from persistent mild stiffness to full-blown "frozen shoulder" with possible bursitis complications. The injections were administered over a period of time, from as little as 6 weeks past and up to 9 full months ago.

I have not been keeping any specific statistics, so have no idea if it's just coincidence or whether there may actually be a link.

Has anyone else seen much in the way of shoulder issues following flu vaccine injections into the shoulder?

I can think of three right off the top of my head whose "frozen shoulder" would correlate within a week or three with their flu shot. :shock:

ooh....my non-vax compatriots would be intrigued by this. though i wonder if the seeming correlation is due to ANY sort of fluid being injected, or if it has more to do with the ingredients themselves. (i bring this up due to a low-dose steroid shot req'd by an illness that is still bruised, though not sore, 2mo later).

Yes, it is my first instinct that it isn't the vaccine itself, but it would be interesting to find out where in the shoulder the shots are being given and the skill of the person giving the shots. If the client already has impaired shoulder function and then has a shot given in a half-hearted manner (especially if in one of the rotator cuff muscles) it seems that little trauma would bring on "frozen shoulder" symptoms from the little bit of scar tissue that comes from the ill given shot.
