MIDVALE, Utah (KUTV) — Authorities on Monday identified a 45-year-old woman who was found deceased in a Midvale massage parlor on Jan. 4.
The death, which was previously called suspicious, was now being investigated as a homicide, according to the Unified Police Department.
"During the investigation, detectives are identifying Yuping Jiao, a 45-year-old female, as the victim of this brutal homicide," according to a UPD statement. "Detectives are still actively seeking any tips related to the victim or business."
Officers responded Thursday to a report of a suspicious death at A+ Massage on Midvale's State Street.
According to UPD spokeswoman Sgt. Aymee Race, a caller reported Thursday that someone "was hurt on the premises."

It wasn't clear who made the call.
At least two people have been interviewed, though no information regarding arrests has been released. Investigators brought in a Mandarin translator to interview two people who speak the language.
Details on how Yuping died were not disclosed.
Police did not say if a suspect has been identified, and no arrests have been reported in the case.
UPD later confirmed to 2News' Brian Schnee that Yuping was an employee at A+ Massage.
Police urged anyone with information about Yuping's death to contact dispatchers at 801-840-4000. Tips can be submitted anonymously, according to UPD.
