Hi all
Been away on hols so not been on here lately sorry!
I had a client last night - never had reflexology before. Trying for a baby - IVF failed recently unfortunately.
I did the treatment very gently as usual for a first treatment. Lady aged 40. No major problems, just constipation, sometimes headaches but no headaches yesterday or for a few days. Has asthma and hayfever.
I noticed she was a little constipated and suggested water etc.
She said she felt fine but was yawning so obviously in a relaxed state.
She called me this afternoon explaining that she had been vomitting most of the day!! OH MY GOODNESS ! I have never had anyone be ill on me before. Assuming it was the reflexology ! She said she had woken up this morning feeling very tired (which I explained she may well do) and says she had a headache - again I explained reflexology can do this and sometimes symptoms can be worse to start with. I gave her an aftercare leaflet explaining possible problems afterwards - and things to do - drink water etc.
She said she was not blaming me but wanted to know if reflexology has done this to her! All I could say was that sometimes it can have that effect - but I was so gentle with her it does not make sense.
She said she went home from work she felt so ill. So had porridge for breakfast and a sandwich and was ill.
I have advised her to have just water, to avoid food for 24 hours, rest and take some paracetamol and speak to her GP if it continues into tomorrow.
I feel awful - I have never had anyone be poorly before.
It may not be the reflexology - she may have a bug - considering she was very constipated and she said she suffers with that and lots of wind.
Any comments?
