Watch out for the "tour guides" that hang out on the Mex side, just as you walk across bridge #1. (These are the guys that walk up to you and say, "You want girls? You want drugs? You want prescriptions, etc?") I met one about a month ago, and got back with him the following week. He had a "friend" with him. We walked around for a while, then we went to the Horseshoe bar and I bought them a round of drinks. The "friend" went to the restroom, and my "tour guide" told me his "friend" was part of the Mexican Mafia, and that I needed to give his "friend" $30 to make his "friend" go away. I responded to my tour guide,"Give him $30 for nothing"? My tour guide responded,"Yes." At that point I got up and made the fastest walk I've ever made back across to the US side. These guys were planning on working me over, if I didn't fork over the $30. I have subsequently learned that street gangs work this area. Probably most of the tour guides, if not all in this area, are members of these street gangs, so beware mongers, your โtour guideโ could start making demands from you, youโre not expecting, and heโll have 15 of his โfriendsโ to back him up, if things get out of hand. Iโm having to avoid this area now, because these two thugs are looking for me, if I show back up in this area. The street gangs view it that they โcontrolโ the area just across Bridge #1, on the NL side. Beware of these guys. They may decide to fuck you over, if you try to do business with them. I was looking for senioritas to get with. I just moved to Laredo in January, from Dallas, and I wanted to get with some senioritas across from bridge #1. I was using this bilingual โtour guideโ to help me meet some senioritas. Big mistake on my part. Now I have to stay out of that area for awhile. Joe Driver
