I was at Wendy's Day Spa, Yonge Street just north of Eglinton on the west side, on Wednesday.
Here I was half way through a one hour massage with Lisa, when I hear a commotion outside, then my attendant excuses herself from the room, then I hear the dreaded word.....POLICE
I find myself lying naked on the massage tabel, wondering what to do, imagining being charged as a found-in. I quickly put on my underwear, when all of a sudden there is a loud knock on the door. The door opens up, and a police officer informs me that the premises are being investigated, and the operation will be shut down for at least 30 minutes. I stated I had done nothing wrong, nor had I received any services of an illegal nature (true to that point).
I hastily got dressed, got half my money back, and high-tailed it out of there as fast as possible.
Wow, I can't believe the close call, and this only a few weeks after I tried to gain entry to Red Bird in the EBK area, only to be greeted at the door by a York Region police officer, who told me "it is not a good day to be here". Am I a jinx to these massage parlours or what?
I then headed west on Eglinton to Green Health, 1818 Egl W, and took a half hour massage for $35 plus a 20 tip. The attendant was scared stiff, and kept asking me if I was a policeman. After repeated denials, we negotiated a happy ending to the session. She then told me they had been visited by the police only this past Monday, and hence the high state of fear.
It seems to me that police in various jurisdictions are putting the heat on these massage parlours, especially with respect to licensing. It seems we have our own breed of American right wing fanatical moralists.
