What can a Y!A user do if a he/she and a contact report a question as chat

and it isn't taken down? Books and Authors has a lot of chatty questions at times and it seems like I can't do anything about it. Help?

Chill. YA's rule against chatting is a crock. If YA wants people to stick to a Q & A format, they should only allow experts to answer. Save your reports for serious violations, like slander, hate or lying.

You do nothing!!! Why would it be so important? Chatting is probably the most common, and least offensive violation there is. I can't even believe it's so important to you to see something as minor as that gone that you'd post a question asking what to do about it. It's sad really.

And the word "Help"??? Like this is an emergency? Seriously? Why even announce you're reporting, especially for something as minor as chatting? You've probably accomplished nothing more than to make yourself a target, because I'm guessing some people might be a little annoyed.

It's not that horrible that a chatting question remains. Again... there is NOTHING you can do about it. There are a lot of chatty questions everywhere, not just in Books & Authors.

If you feel a violation is so bad that it must be removed, about the only thing you can do besides reporting it yourself is to get your contacts and other likely members to report it too. Although I don't think I would go that much effort just for a chat violation.

You do not want to post a link to any question calling it out as abuse; that could get you a violation.

Sometimes it seems the system is broken, and no matter how many people report an obviously bad post it does not get removed. I know examples of insulting language and cheating that have been reported by 10 or more members and are still around.

Why report them? Y!A is based around opinions. It doesn't hurt to share them through a little chatter.

Because there is no consistency on here, some questions get removed for miner offenses while serious violations remain. I have experience the same issue but don't let this discourage you from reporting, otherwise they win.
